What I Think About the Iraq War

By Henry

I do not think that going into Iraq was a huge mistake. I do not think it has been handled perfectly, but the idea of liberating Iraq was a good idea. I just want to address the reasons why I think this.
First of all, Iraq was under the rule of an evil tyrannical leader, who killed thousands of his own citizens. He tested chemical weapons on Kurds living in his country, killing thousands. A war freeing the oppressed from the oppressor is the type of war that is completely justified. When America revolted against the British, the innocent was freed from the control of the guilty, and the people of Iraq were under even worse conditions. This war was justified.
America and our allies were aware that Iraq was planning on attacking Iran again. Iraq, and Arabian country, was going to attack Iran, a Persian country. The war between the Arabians and the Persians has lasted thousands of years, and was bound to flare up soon. If Iran was attacked, their production of oil would be severely hurt. Without Iran, one of the World's largest producers of oil, the worlds economy would be set off balance severely. We needed to interfere with Iraq's plans of attacking Iran. If we hadn't attacked, the economy would have been worse than it is now.
Contrary to popular belief, Iraq was hosting terrorist training camps. The Weekly Standard stated, "THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq. The existence and character of these documents has been confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD by eleven U.S. government officials." Terrorism is the greatest threat to the well being of the World, and it would be dangerous to not act.
These are a few reasons why I believe the Invasion of Iraq was a logical and justified military action. I am open to other opinions people have about the invasion of Iraq, though. I'm willing to listen to other peoples opinions, and if you can convince me, I might just change my own view.

Sure a lot of people in Iraq lost their lives under Hussein, but what about all the American soldiers that have lost their lives?

Something to say?
